People with mental illness put up with a lot more than their illness. Mental illness carries too much stigma. While there is no shame taking time off work to recover from tonsillitis or pneumonia, sharing that you have a mental illness is still an act of profound courage. As you are reading this, it’s likely that you know someone who suffers from some form of mental illness. You may even experience a mental condition yourself.
